Cool!Xiaomi Phone hands-on redux: dual partition system explained (video)

Not long ago Xiaomi, a Beijing-based company with around 250 staff, shocked the industry with the announcement of its conveniently named Xiaomi Phone. We are taking a look at a well-built tool packing a one.5GHz dual-core SoC, 1GB RAM and 4GB ROM, 4-inch LCD, GPS and GLONASS, and a generous one,900mAh battery. Set at an very competitive cost point of around $310 for October, this has no doubt made other local manufacturers — Meizu in particular — think two times about their current strategy.

But let’s ignore the competitors for now and focus on Xiaomi. Plenty of Android Read more »

Yes,man!Eminem And Bruno Mars Rise Up In New ‘Lighters’ Video

Given its general grittiness (and the fact that it is called Hell: The Sequel), Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″ ‘s Bad Meets Nasty album looks like the last place you’d ever find Bruno Mars. And yet, the pompadour-powered crooner shows up to sing the hook on “Lighters” (they also produced the track together with his Smeezingtons cohorts), a decidedly upbeat ballad that provides a brief respite from the blood-and-guts boasts that Em and Royce pack on the disc.

And sure, the track feels out of place because of that fact, but that has not stopped it from becoming a sizeable Billboard hit. So it makes sense that there’d be an accompanying video that matches its uplift ethos every step of the way. And now, that video, directed by Rich Lee (“Not Afraid”), has arrived. Read more »

Come on!Eminem – Eminem’s Backstage Fish!

Eminem requested koi carp on his backstage rider at a show in Northern Ireland.

The ‘Lose Yourself’ hitmaker requested a wooden pond filled with the colourful fishes to be built in his private backstage garden at the Tennent’s Vital festival in Bangor earlier this month.

Koi carp are said to be calming to watch, and are an expensive variety of domesticated fish, costing between £200 and £600 per fish.

The pond wasn’t the rapper’s only backstage request for the show – he also requested a microwave, full-length mirror, dumbbells and rolling clothes racks.

As well as having equipment to help him work out, Eminem also steered away from junk food, requesting seedless watermelon, yogurt, pretzels and an assorted vegetable tray with ranch dip. Read more »

Usain Bolt’s shocking DQ ends three-year reign in 100 By Chris Chase

Usain Bolt had another stunning performance in the world championships. This time, it didn’t involve him crossing the finish line in the fastest time ever recorded.

The world’s fastest man broke out of the starting block early in Sunday’s 100 meter final in South Korea and was disqualified from the race, providing an abrupt end to the dominance he’s maintained in track’s biggest event since the Beijing Olympics.

An angry Bolt refused to talk about the disqualification with reporters. “Looking for tears?” he said to a group of them following him around the track. “Not going to happen.” Read more »
